During our travel we will mainly use local transports. However we do not exclude the location of a car in some countries. Many countries have agreements with the France and thus recognize the french driving license. However some other countries only recognize the “international driving license”.
To get it it in France is very simple. Go to you prefecture with the following documents :
- identity card, original and photocopy
- driving license, original and photocopy
- two passport photos
- one proof of domicile
This license is free and the delivery is variable. For my part I got it the day after my application ! The license is valid during 3 years. It is quite big and ugly. It is traduced in german, english, arabic, spanish and russian !

Vachement pratique à mettre dans le sac à dos, autant mettre un carton au format A4 ! Moi j’ai fini par le plier en dix…

NON le permis français suffit juste si tu restes six mois au Canada, au-delà le permis international est obligatoire.
