In the vineyards of Mendoza

Grappe de raisin, Medoza, Argentine

After four months travelling in Central and South America we finally arrived in the wine and beef meat country!

Surrounded by the Andes and not so far from the Chili border, Mendoza city was our first contact with Argentina. And what a difference with all what we had seen until then. Streets are full of beautiful shops, cafes and restaurants with terraces. There were even a pedestrian street! It was like we had changed of world.

Not very far from there, in the countryside, there are many vineyards which have become the main tourist attraction of the region.

Vignes de la bodega La Rural, Mendoza, Argentine

Feeling the lack of wine we have made a little tour in those vineyards. We visited the bodega “La Rural” which presents a little museum and propose a guided visit of the exploitation. We could particularly notice that they make grow vineyards at a human size. This protect grapes from the sun and the rain (see video below). Moreover it is easier to pick them.

At the end of the tour we had a tasting of the wine. It was not very good in fact. A bit disappointed we hope for a revenge with the meat! To follow…

    Bien affectueusement.
